Every year World Leprosy Day (WLD) is celebrated on the last Sunday of January. Following the same this year Banchte Shekha has celebrated World Leprosy Day focusing the theme 'Beat Leprosy: Ending Stigma, Embracing Dignity'. The theme for World Leprosy Day 2024 is 'Beat Leprosy: Ending Stigma, Embracing Dignity'. This theme encapsulates the dual objectives of the day: to eradicate the stigma associated with leprosy and to promote the dignity of people affected by the disease. Under Activating and Engaging Government and People in Partnership (AEP) project the World Leprosy Day was celebrated jointly with Civil Surgeon Office, Jashore and Monirampur sub-district Self Help Group Federation named Asher Alo Kusto Rogi O Prothibondhi Unnayan Prochesta. The World Leprosy Day celebration program was assisted by The Leprosy Mission International - Bangladesh and local partner Banchte Shekha.
